Heather Smith Obituary

Heather Smith, a long-time resident of the Asheville area, died Thursday the 12th of September at Sun Bridge Healthcare Center. Born in 1937 in Denver, CO. Heather received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Education from Colorado State College in 1951. She continued her education at the University of Minnesota, from which she received her M.Ed. in Nursing in 1955. Heather loved good food and socializing, enjoyed going to movies and plays with friends, and had a wonderful smile that could light up a room. She is survived by her daughter, Tagitha Winslow and several grandchildren, all of whom live in south Florida, and brought great joy to her later years. Memorial gifts may be made to the Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society, PO Box 319, Asheville, NC 28715. Johnson Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
